I’ve been avoiding topics like this for a bit.
At least in written word form.
Not because I don’t care – the exact opposite actually.
I’ve honestly just run out of words. Or at least that’s what it feels like.
It seems those who want to listen, have tired of doing so.
And if I’m being honest, I don’t exactly know what good “listening” does anyway.
Conversations don’t move us forward, like so many of us want to believe.
Only action can do that.
At any rate, I have to talk about this.
I don’t know if I should start with the fact that it’s been deemed “okay” for 7-year-olds to be shocked with a taser.
The fact that it was ‘necessary’ (and you’ll have a damn hard time convincing me of that) to use a taser on an 11-year-old.
Alright. So she stole.
Yes, that’s a crime.
She IS 11.
So let’s keep that in the front our minds throughout all of this.
Tasers are used by police to subdue suspects.
I’d like to hear WHY a taser was needed to SUBDUE an 11-year-old.
Fitness is not a requirement of my position as a business owner, so I only work out sporadically, but I have 100% confidence I can subdue my 11-year-old should the need EVER arise.
Again. I haven’t actually ran in ages (with speed in mind), but I KNOW I could catch him still. Because I’m a grown human, and he is not.
Tasers are used to deliver a pulsating electrical current to incapacitate a per person.
Again. WHY was there a need to shock & incapacitate an 11-year-old?
I lied… I actually am not ready to dive in & dissect this.
Oh. But one last thing…
Oddly enough… the police officer’s camera wasn’t on.
